Why Playhood
There is no fixed programme or prescribed role. The play city offers ideas, while the group decides which story unfolds.
Children choose their own roles, create stories and play together. Communication, collaboration and seeing another perspective can emerge naturally.
From doctor and hairdresser to pizza chef, children discover familiar jobs and situations by acting them out themselves.
Our different playhouses invite children to create stories together and keep trying new roles.
Our hosts speak Dutch and English, so we welcome both Dutch and international schools and groups.
What a visit can look like
We discuss what is needed beforehand. Once inside the Hood, children have the freedom to follow their own play.
We welcome the group and briefly explain how playing in the Hood works.
Then free roleplay begins. Children choose where and with whom they play, changing roles and stories along the way.
Every group is different. We discuss group size, supervision and any additional needs with you beforehand.
Who it is for
From primary school classes and after-school care to international schools, we welcome different groups and help plan the group size, supervision and shape of the visit.
